Kinja'd!!!

Tell us your stories OPPO. Sad and spooky story from work below, car related.

We lost one of our Lotus salesmen last Tuesday. A genuine and very friendly English fellow. He had been on life support up until late Monday. On Tuesday a little before noon, the Yellow Evora's siren went off. Then shortly after, the other Evora's siren went off as well. An odd occurrence non the less but whatever. Shortly after, we found out that our fellow employee had passed just a couple moments prior. Coincidentally, the alarms had went off just a couple moments after he passed. Was it his way of swinging by to say goodbye to us? Of course, we'd like to believe that but it most likely was a huge coincidence..... yeah....

I recently experienced Sleep Paralysis for the first time ever. Scientists can go on about all that mumbo jumbo but holy shit it's horrifying. I was terrified to even open my eyes.

yes, I absolutely do. No time to tell most of the stories, but I grew up on the shoreline in CT, with alot of houses and places with alot of history, dating back to the 16th century. I also had a ghost in my house in Denver for real, always messing with my booty calls too

I used to do tech support for a major ISP and I had a guy call me up and say he didn't think there was anything technically wrong with our service but it would come and go he said because the lines were haunted. Showing empathy like I was trained to I told him I didn't think he was crazy and that I'd seen it before. After letting him know I was also a believer he then turned on me and treated me like I was the nuts one.

Do i believe? i dunno. the weirdest thing i've experience was sitting at home. Int he kitchen we had a clock over a spice rack positioned such that the clock was actually behind some of the spices. I head a bang in the kitchen and went to investigate what the damn cat got into this time. The clock was on the floor and was certainly not something the cat could have gotten at. The weird part is that none of the spices had moved or knocked over and the nail that the clock was hanging on was pushed into the wall.

Also some of my kids toys will start randomly making noises while i'm working at home at night. They are not particularly scary but its massively f'in creepy when out of nowhere you here "lets be friends" f that!

I used to work at a pizza place, and on Sunday mornings when we were just doing general stuff (folding boxes or whatever) something would shout "order in!" at the window to the dining room. There were only two of us in the restaurant at the time, and neither was in the dining room.

It also would screw around moving between the restroom in the back of the restaurant and the back door. Fairly innocuous stuff, but I remember it very clearly.

I can't say 100% that I do. But I do. I've had two experiences of the same ghost in my house. And my family have had others. My first was on my second floor of my house. Right at the top of the stairs. There's a bookcase with some family photos as well. I was walking g down the hall towards the stairs at night. So it was pretty dark but there were lights on. I look ahead and there's a black figure shaped like a pretty tall man. Looked to me like a guy in a suit. I freaked out big time. And ran the other way. Of course it was gone when I went back. I told my mom and she showed me this picture of my great grandfather, who I'm named after. In a black suit. The picture happens to be right at the top of the stairs. And it was his birthday.

Lotus ghosts crazy story and that's sad losing a co-worker.

but for more hauntings ask somebody who works at a BMW dealer. There was a "haunted" M5 that had all sorts of mysterious electrical gremlins like the mirrors moving on their own, refusing to start on a charged battery, then starting and rough idle and misc error messages that would happen during test drives. The V10 didn't like to sit for a long time it needed a good hoon regularly to run properly but it sat a long time nobody would buy it.

My dads 335i had a mirror that would drop down when you locked it and would whistle at certain angles but the mirror was just dirty contacts and the whistle was a poorly installed windshield after a deer decided to run it's head into it and caused a hefty amount of damage to the door and fender.

Yeah, I do. Laugh at this all you want, my parents did: One day I was home alone, sitting on the couch, watching tv. All of a sudden, the front door knob starts violently turning. At first I thought it was the damn neighbors kids, but they weren't at home. There was no one outside(the dogs always go off if there is). A couple of weeks later I found out that a Creek Indian burial ground was found in the subdivision. I'm not about that poltergeist shit.

Let's see.... I think a month after I acquired the Honda Hornet (kind of regretting the purchase as I found an ST1100 for cheap with hard cases and shaft drive, something that's more reliable than chains) I couldn't help but feel a bit cold on a warm day. Like a light breeze went right through me upon leaving my driveway and onto my street. The next thing I knew as I pulled in the clutch, the engine decides to stop - even though it has been warmed up with the choke (yes, this is a fuel injected bike with a choke called fast idle) engaged. (Note: it is essential that if you own a 919, you DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL, as 15 seconds for fast idling is not enough for the engine to warm up properly and you will stall upon engaging the clutch to shift. If you do stall, pull over to the side of the road, flick the kill switch off and back on to let the PGM-FI build up pressure, then you can restart. Attempting to restart a stalled bike immediately will result in you having a bad time.)

I later found out an old neighbor was killed a couple of years back at that intersection that I stalled at when a 16-year-old in a hatchback wasn't paying attention and blew through the stop sign, T-boning the guy.

You learn to make the most of it. That call for example I could've chosen to be annoyed by but instead I was dying of laughter on the inside and decided to roll with it. Only made me laugh harder when he thought I was nuts.

One time I had a hippy lady ask me if her crystals would affect her service. I told her no more than they affect anything else.

Another time I had a lady ask me about cellphones and cancer. This was around the time of the WHO classification of cellphones as a possible carcinogen and I told her I saw the story and not to worry about brain cancer. That's when she tells me she's not worried about brain cancer. She said her son carried his phone in his pocket like boys do and she was worried about being able to have grandchildren.

I did.

The place was family-owned, and I was usually there with the husband and sometimes one of the sons (I was probably 21, the younger son was like 24). They would just shrug when I would say "did you hear that?" After I'd been working there for like 8-9 months and was fairly friendly with them, one of the sons told me about it. He said they acted like it wasn't happening when newer people asked because employees had gotten scared and left. Whatever it was, it was harmless and actually kind of funny.

Nope...however when I was in early elementary school (8 or so) I was cleaning dishes. Our sink had a window right in front of it that looked out over a pasture. I looked up and there was a ghastly looking male, bald top, white temples, pale skin, slack open mouth, ratty blazer w/ no shirt, and black eyes with both of his palms pressed against the window staring in at me. It's one of the few things I remember from back then and I can still picture it with pure clarity. Scared the shit out of me and I ran to my grandpa's room and grabbed the 20 gauge and called the sheriff. They showed up and listened to me but thought I was bullshitting. I swore up and down it was true and they took me out and pointed to my grandma's garden that was right outside the window with moist flat soil (it was raining) that 100% would have shown foot prints if a person walked in it and there were none. Got a paddling that night...but motherfucker, there was someone or something there.

I have actually become more of a skeptic because of the show Ghost Hunters (which is great btw and they have some awesome paranormal video and audio footage) but my experience was in a hotel.

It wasn't one of those awesome classic hotels with a lot of history it was some random one near the OKC airport. I kept hearing a scratching sound next to my bed and I couldn't figure out what it was. I checked the night stand, there was nothing in it, checked behind the bed, nothing but I kept hearing it. I assumed it was mice in the wall or something (it wasn't that nice of hotel) so I tapped on the wall a few times hoping to scare the mice off but I still kept hearing it.

Then I decided to see if I could replicate the sound, I tried a few things until I started scratching my fingernails on the back side of the night stand, exactly the same sound. If it was mice I figured I'd be able to catch them in the act so I was wondering if my room wasn't haunted. Well next, I started hearing the scratching and a tugging on the sheets. So I said out loud "knock that shit off." The scratching stopped, the tugging stopped, and I hd no more experiences for the rest of my stay. Definitely weird to say the least.

My favorite memory of doing CS for DirecTV back in the 90s was when a man from WV called wondering why he wasn't getting picture. Turned out he had the dish itself inside pointed at the wall and thought it was some sort of magical projector. Two and a half hours trying to explain it to that guy. Stats were screwed for the whole month but it was totally worth it.

Or maybe the time Bruce Willis cussed me out because we cut off his ability to order pay-per-views.

Whoa! My friend had the same experience! We was brushing his teeth at his parents house. He scooped up some water to rinse his mouth and when he came up, there on the mirror he could see a black figure but was able to very briefly see a face. I quickly vanished quick. The next day while looking at pictures freshly scanned and added to a e-photo album the came across his grandpa that he was never met and is also named after. It was the same exact person he saw the day before in an Army uniform shortly after he died in battle. he instantly recognized his face and pointed it out to his mom before she told him who it was.

When it comes to regular old Casper or Ammityville type ghosts, no, I don't. I think there are reasonable explanations for most everything.

But I'm a Christian. And I can't deny the existence of spirits—both angelic and demonic. At this point, you guys may think I'm crazy. Which, I'm fine with. I'm used to it. So here's a couple stories I've heard second hand.

First one is from a friend of mine. He and his wife—who has celiac's disease and requires a special diet—were out hiking some trails. They had gotten turned around and were slightly lost. The walk was supposed to be maybe an hour or so and neither of them ate before hand. My friend's wife was basically on the verge of passing out from dietary needs after about 3 hours. They stopped on some trails and sat down on a rock. She cried while he was going through the survival scenarios in his head he would take to protect his wife. Where they were sitting, they could see both ends of the trail. And at one point they looked up and this jogger—a trail runner, kinda—was like halfway up the trail to them. In such a way that it seemed like he couldn't have run that fast to get where he was when they noticed him and them not noticed him rounding the bend or whatever. Anyway, he looked very fresh and not filthy. He came by and asked if they needed some help. He had water, he had granola bars and bananas—which were perfect for the wife's diet. And he had a map. He showed my friend the way out and back to their car. Then they said thanks, took off walking and turned around to see where the guy was and he was gone. And my friend is adamant that there wasn't enough time for the guy to run down the trail out of sight. To this day, my friend's wife calls the man their angel in the woods. Maybe not so paranormal. I don't know.

The next one is one I heard about as we were kicking ideas around for a mission trip. There's a large indian reservation in Montana that has one of the highest rates for child suicide in the country. So the idea for the trip was that people from church would go up there and just put on camp and activities and stuff for the kids. In discussing it, one guy filled us in on some of the problems. One being abuse, another being the poverty and lack of resources on the reservation, and of course the child suicide problem.

Well, apparently, there is a figure of sorts... a demon, a ghost, whatever you want to call it, that comes to kids and tells them killing themselves is the easiest way out for them and their families. And the description of the figure is all the same from kids who have written notes and who have survived suicide attempts. At the same time, there's a school on the reservation. The indian tribe has a medicine man that has gone through the school multiple times and tried cleansing it of what he says is a demonic presence. He 'detected' the presence in every single room in the school except one. That room is the guidance counselor's office.

The guidance counselor at the school is the only Christian on the reservation, lives off the reservation and drives like 45 minutes in every day, and counsels these kids on their problems. And this 'presence' is everywhere but her office.

We had tons of celebrities call in back then because it was right after DTV went national and it was like the in thing.

The guy that ran the tour bus for one of the Judds called in and wanted to have it set up so they could watch pay-per-views while they were rolling around the country. Problem was, the only way we could do pay-per-views was either call in or if the box was hooked to a land line via modem for the billing. Obviously the land-line was impossible in a tour bus so the guy just said screw it and ordered every single pay-per-view on every channel for the next 90 days.

I asked him if he wanted the porn channels included and he goes 'Why not? I don't fucking know what those girls are into...Showbiz right?' I then entered over 25k dollars in ppvs one at a time which had to be paid off in 500$ increments since that was the largest our system could process at once.

I've heard others that I've been skeptical of. I was having lunch with friends and we got to talking about this. A friend said that one of her friends that she trusts completely to not make stuff up (lots of degrees of separation here, so I can't speak to the authenticity of this) had something crazy happen with her kid.

She was in a minivan, driving along. And her kid is in the back seat strapped in to the car seat. He's like 4 or so. Well, somehow he gets unbuckled and opens the sliding door.

Out he goes. From a moving car.

Mom freaks out. Stops the car, runs back expecting her kid to be dead. But he's there sitting at the side of the road, not a scratch on him. First thing he says to his mom is "Where did the man in white go that caught me?"

Blew my mind. Still don't know if I believe it.

whaaaaaat? dude for real?! Oh man makes you wonder for sure. We lost a family friend last month. He at one point around 10 years ago was near dead at the hospital. My dad, a freemason grand master, started slapping the heck out of his face hard when he was near red line with permission from his wife and doctors had stepped out so he can pass with us there. He can back to life after about 10 hard smacks! He quickly was telling us what he experienced. He said that he could already see him self being worked on by the doctors and that we were there in the room, which was true. He already knew my mom, his wife, my dad, and I were there. There was really no way he could of known that. He said he was going to the light and that the light felt awesome. He saw his uncles and other people he knew up there waiting for him. Then he confronted his mom. His mom was saying that it wasn't his time. He said that he was literally arguing with her because the light felt so good. His mom said no and to go back. Then he returned with a very vivid recount of what he was going through. He said he had read books about people seeing the light and this and that, but he never gave it much thought til after experiencing it that day.

I have one. I grew up in a nice house built in the late 80's in Ambler Pennsylvania. My parents were the second owners, and bought it a year before having me in 1995. When I was about 7 years old I was in my dad's bedroom which was over the garage playing with my matchbox cars and watching tv. I looked up and saw what looked like an old woman watching me from the bathroom. She was gone in the blink of an eye. Another incident happened when I was about 12 where I was fast asleep, and woke up to what felt like a hug. I looked all around, and nobody was there. When I was about 13 my dad started staying in one of the guest bedrooms, as it was warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, anyways, one night my mom came home from working in the emergency room at a local hospital. She came up the stairs and saw a bright light shining out from under the door to the back bedroom (the same room Isaw the woman in). She checked the room in the morning and there were no lights on. Right before we sold he house, I asked a neighbor if anyone had died in the house. He told me that the prior owners parents lived in the back bedroom, and the mother died in that room from cancer. We sold the house 2 years ago.

I've got a few. Some personal, some from others.

My most personal experience was probably when my grandmother passed away. During her last few weeks when she was at home, as she sat on the couch, she claimed to see her late husband (my grandfather) walking around the living room. Now I may not be religious, but I do believe in the paranormal, the idea that there are things beyond this world. I don't believe it's necessarily a bad thing, I like to believe that death isn't the end for all of us, that there is still hope towards the end. (Why do I sound so deep?) But anyway - soon after, my grandmother passed away in hospital. She was a legendarily stubborn, headstrong and difficult woman, right up until her death. Only a few days prior to her parting, she suddenly wanted to change the location of her grave, which meant my father had to go through a ton of paperwork to get it sorted. She then passed away in her sleep a few days later. Come the funeral day. We had problems adjusting her embalmed body as her head wouldn't stay straight. Fine enough. But as the funeral progressed, things just kept going wrong. When we were due to take her to the crematorium, the undertakers had issues loading her coffin into the hearse as it wouldn't slide in. On the way to the crematorium, a belt in the car carrying my father and the funeral director snapped, stranding them at the side of the road. And when we finally reached the crematorium, the rollers that carried her coffin into the incinerator jammed and we were forced to back her out and try again. Seems like she wasn't willing to go just yet.

Another odd, but not necessarily paranormal, experience was on Christmas Eve many years ago when I was still a child. This is my parent's account, because I was asleep like a log. In the middle of the night, somebody rang our doorbell. We used to live in the country, four miles from the nearest village, so to have somebody ring our doorbell on a cold, deeply foggy night was pretty odd. Maybe it was Santa. My parents went downstairs and opened the door. There was a man standing there and he asked my parents which way the nearest village was. My parents pointed out the direction in which he should be heading, he said thanks and they closed the door. They then looked out the window - he was nowhere to be seen. Guess he had been very quickly swallowed up by the fog. A bit creepy though...

I have other genuinely creepy stories though, all from my parent's colleagues. One of them, as a child, used to sleep in a room on his own. He had a brother who slept in another room. At night, he used to talk to his brother out loud and his brother would answer back. Or so he thought his brother was answering back. One night, he asked his brother why he couldn't see him. And the voice answered back, saying he wasn't his brother. Then there was a flash and there was a skeleton standing at the corner of the room. The details on how this story ended are unclear in my mind, but obviously, a bit of freaking out occurred.

Gosh, that was long. And I still haven't reached the fourth story yet, unless you'd like me to tell you...

your grandmother reminds me of mine. I'd like to believe she had something to do with the dificulty but in a cool way. Made her presents known.

Kind of odd since they both saw the guy but hauntings are told to be one of two, either intelligent or residual. I believe this was residual. A guy following a path in loops if it indeed was a spirit of some sort.

That is a creepy one for sure. Though, i am often suspicious of bed time events because they easily can be dreams. Hopefully this was because that is straight up scary.
